The Order Process

Please read before making a purchase

Make sure you have your opticians prescription ready when you order. You will be asked for these details when you place your order.

You can order multiple glasses. We will use the prescription details on the order page, so it is important to to make sure these are correct. Glasses are custom made and we are unable to refund if you have entered incorrect details. We will send you a confirmation email before the glasses are made. We may contact you for further details or if the prescription is non-standard or need clarity on your order.

The following explains the process in full.

1 ) Pick Your frames

We offer a large selection of frames. Pick a style you like. The physical dimensions of the glasses are linked to the style. Please make sure the lens dimensions are the same are not too dissimilar to your current glasses. The price will change depending on your selections.

2) Select the lenses based on usage

Lenses are made depending on your prescription and  your needs. Your optician would have suggested the type of glasses at your last visit. If you are unsure, please contact us with your prescription details and we can offer a suggestion.

We offer the following selection.

Reading. These are glasses if you are unable to see things close up. Ideal for reading or close up work.

Distance. These are glasses if you are unable to see things at a distance. Ideal for driving.

Occupational. These are glasses which are generally for close up to arm length work (for example computer use) You may find reading glasses on their own are not suitable for computer work.

Varifocal. These are glasses which have a varying focal range from distance at the top of the lens, to close up at the bottom of the lens. This reduces the need for multiple glasses, but you need to get used to shifting you head depending on what you are looking at.

3) Select from the available drop down options

Check the dimensions of the glasses. Check the Lens Size, Bridge Size and Arm Length match your current glasses. If they vary too much there is no guarantee that glasses will sit on your face correctly.

Next add the type of lenses.

Standard Lens Type Options

Standard - Standard Lenses with built in anti scratch

Photochromic - Automatically darken in bright UV light

Transition Xtra - Darkens in bright light indoors and outdoors

Varifocal Lens Type Options

Standard - Standard Lenses with built in anti scratch

Mid-Range - Gives wider field of vision than standard lens with anti scratch

Top-Range - Widest field of vision. Clear vision in all directions

Photochromic - Automatically darken in bright UV light

Transition Xtra - Darkens in bright light indoors and outdoors

Next add any additional extras that you want. These will depend on your needs.

Anti-Reflective are designed to reflect away light and glare.

Blue Filter are designed to filter out high-energy visible (HEV) blue-violet light emitted by digital screens, LED lighting, and the sun. They are recommended for computer use.

Thin 1.6 lenses are 20-30% thinner and lighter lenses. We recommend this option for +4 / -4 higher prescriptions. To work out if you have a higher prescription add the Spherical (Sph) Cylinder (Cyl) values together from your prescription. If they are greater than +4 or less than -4 you have a higher prescription. This option will make the lenses thinner and lighter to wear.

Thin 1.67 lenses are 30-40% thinner and lighter lenses. We recommend this option for high +6 / -6 prescriptions. To work out if you have a higher prescription add the Spherical (Sph) Cylinder (Cyl) values together from your prescription. If they are greater than +6 or less than -6 you have a higher prescription. This option will make the lenses thinner and lighter to wear.

Select No Extra if no extra coatings are needed.

4) Add to basket

Add the frame to your basket. If you want more than one pair of glasses (for example a varifocal for everyday use and a reading pair for close up work) then browse the selection and pick another pair. You can review your basket and remove items before you checkout.

5) Checkout

The checkout will ask you a number of questions in order to complete your order. The sections are:

Customer Details - This is the person who is ordering and the location to send the glasses to. A phone number and email are required to verify any issues with the order.

Frame Details - This is the measurements of your glasses. The values can be read from an existing pair. See Selecting Lenses (opens in a new window) for the breakdown and how to get your current measurements.

Prescription Details - These are the details we need in order to make your glasses. There are a lot of numbers, but you should have these from your last eye test at the optician. There are separate values for the left and right eyes. Make sure you copy the values correctly. We need all the values - but you will probably only have some of the values on your prescription. Enter a zero (0) for values that do not apply. This is to make sure you have copied all the values from your prescription correctly and to reduce mistakes.

Delivery Details - This is where the glasses will be sent to.

Please check the order details carefully before proceeding to the payment screen.

You will be sent an email with your order. Contact us if you have made a mistake or need to make a change.
